HGTV's Design Star

Finally, it’s Sunday and a new challenge for HGTV's Design Star! It’s interesting to see the commercials and sneak previews; but remember, we are only seeing what the powers to be want us to see. Antonio willing to go home for refusing to paint the walls tan?…hmm. He is not one of my favorites, but in his defense, the judges are always looking for something other than “textbook design” and tan definitely fits into that category. He was given kudos in the first episode for painting the ducks hot pink and thinking “outside the box”. Now is he really going to be criticized for being against boring tan or could it possibly be because he wants things HIS way? Antonio is the ‘go to guy’ when it comes to executing the design, but in my opinion, that’s as far as it goes. I want to see more of Dan’s, Nathan’s and Tori’s design. The white wall challenge was just a ‘taste’ of what is yet to come and also another confirmation that Antonio, Jason, and Lonnie can only design or execute – not both at the same time.
